Well, the only one I've been to is the Colorado Center for the blind 
here in Colorado.  The good was and is that I now have been living on 
my own, meaning not with my parents for 19 years and it feels good.  
the bad is that since there were at one time so many of us, we I feel 
didn't get the one on one we needed all the time for cooking. I did get 
one on one trust me, but I didn't learn how to cut stuff, or anything 
like that.

While I was there, I had to take braille, and the good thing about that 
was I got my slate and stylus speed up, the bad thing was it was fairly 
boring cause I am totally blind and so knew braille.
