I did computer programming in FORTRAN in my high school Senior 
year.  We started on an old IBM mainframe, then moved to terminals 
connected to a DEC "time-sharing" system.  That was a local public 
school.  Yes, I graduated from Perkins, but took some courses at the 
local public.

Perkins had computer programming but dropped it before I could take 
it.  They used to dial up to a near-by university, using terminals 
and a Braille embosser.
